Welcome!

My name is Derek Bodner, and I am the editor here at BroadStreetHoops.  If you’ve landed here, you probably already know who I am.  Heck, the reason you’re here is probably because I spammed you on twitter.  But if not, check out our About page to read more about me and check out some of my previous work.

We’ll be adding more content over the next few days as we ramp up for the beginning of 76ers training camp in what should be an exciting season.  Alright, maybe not exciting on the court, but it should be highly relevant for the teams future, at least.

If you’re interesting in writing for the site, please shoot me an email or contact me on twitter and send me samples of your work.

Thank you for taking the time to check out the new site, and I hope you stick with us while this all gets fleshed out.  Please take a few seconds to register, you can do so by logging in with your already existing Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or OpenID accounts, or you can register for an account through BroadStreetHoops directly.  We’d love to have your feedback on what we write.

Congrats on getting the new site up and running. I hope you were able to keep your team credentials. It’s been a while since RealGM and Phillyarea, and great to see how he availability of online analytics, scouting and commentary has really taken off. You continue to be a good resource for Sixer fans in all of these areas, and I hope this site takes off.

I will be at media day / tc. As for credentials, we’ll see. My traffic is actually fairly good right now, about 1/4th of what LB was getting the last time I checked in early september, which isn’t bad considering it’s been up for 2 days, doesn’t have content distribution deals, and isn’t even indexed by google yet. But, ultimately, I obviously have a lesser voice here, so we’ll see.

And yeah, it’s been a long while. Those were good times at PhillyArena. I really enjoyed the development / coding aspect of it. I actually nearly named this PhillyArena again, but I wanted something that was a little more memorable and descriptive when spoken.

Appreciate the kind words. Stick around. Feel like we’ve known each other virtually (and, for a couple of minutes, in real life) forever.
